jpnn.com - JAKARTA – Sentul race track will undergo renovations in order to secure a spot to host 2017 MotoGP series. The renovation will include extending the circuit length to 4.2 km.

Furthermore, the number of corners will be added to be 14 corners. Currently, that best circuit in Indonesia only has 11 corners. The circuit’s character will also be changed.

“Sentul will be a street circuit. It will pass through housing complex and commercial areas. Hotels will be built nearby so the guests can watch it from their rooms,” Sentul Circuit President Director, Tinton Soeprapto, said on Crash website on Saturday November 21.

“We have the biggest population of two-wheel users in the world. We have the biggest motorcycle factory as well as one of the biggest tire factories in the world. For that reason, we deserve to hold the race here,” Tinton claimed. (jos/apa/jpnn)
